Home, As I Recalled.

I live in one of the most crowded city in the world. It didn't allow me to stand still and just watch. Night and day it pushes me to keep moving. Warning me that if i stop moving and keep up, I'll be lost and stranded in the sea full of people. I've grown my thick skin and fast thinking here. It's toughness encourage me in crazy ways everyday..

But i have my moments where i could stop and watch. When i took pictures of every corner and center of this city. It stops and turns into places where i always want to come back to. I just hope all these concrete walls doesn't change what I am.

All cities are mad:  but the madness is gallant.
All cities are beautiful:  but the beauty is grim.

Just A Hint of Energy

After days being caught in the
nasty rain,
crazy wind,
sore throat and dizzy head.

Today i gain my energy back (even when i haven't got my paycheck yet...)
It's always good to be back to your normal self.

Don't need great places to take pictures and be happy

In this hot, humid and crowded street i pass everyday
i feel good
happy
and
somehow felt blessed

(and i'm taking bus everyday, no air conditioning for me)

Daily Life

Yesterday when i got stucked in traffic i spotted this old lady walking. The way she walks is very easy and no hurry it seems that she had all the time in the world, while everyone that got stucked in the traffic jam wants to be the first to get out of it they started to honk and rant at each other.

The first thing on my mind is that i want to walk with that old lady and thank God i'm taking a bus ride, so i could just get out of the bus and start walking.

my rage, forgetting everything

Blogs that get me through every day

1.  You Offend Me You Offend My Family

I gotta say thank God i found this blog, it's funny, honest and very real. This group of Asian American filmmakers, writers and actors are amazingly great bloggers, i've been hooked up by the way they tell their stories and everything on their minds. These offenders made me feel weird and lucky to be asian. I have to say that my favourite offenders are Phillip with his weird dates stories and how to survive guide and Sung with his poop obsessions.

2.  The Rockstar Diaries

This couple, Naomi and Josh, is rockstar indeed. I'm amaze by their amazing photographs, Naomi's little letters and their passion for food. I love the way they're embrace their life. My constantly everyday must read.

3.  Garance Dore

The most inspiring fashion blog, her fashion illustrations and photographs are my everyday excitement.

4.  Color Me Katie

This blog is where i go to when i'm sick and felt like the world is turning grey. Her colorful blog and her creative thinking making me instantly happy, especially her improv everywhere project.

Sometimes it feels good to be alone in a silent room.

It started when my TV and DVD broken at the same time then i have to be creative finding things to do beside browsing, blogging and read my -feels like endless- Anna Karenina novel.

Then, i thought of what ancient people would do without TV, DVD, Laptop and every electronic things man ever made to end the dullness of living in crazy town?!? Since a week ago i tried some kind of a new habit, before i sleep i would just stay in my bed enjoying the silence in my room, it's pretty easy cause i'm always had a hard time to fell asleep. And you know what i found...being alone at one particular time is one hell of a therapy to just look at your life without all the hustle bustle, without people's opinion to hear, without people sometimes judgemental looks, just yourself saying things in your head and heart. You might have a big family, lots of friends and lovely spouse, but sometimes all you need is to be with yourself.

And it pretty much saves me from everyday media and
gossip consumption that i'm very tired to hear and see, feels relieving.
I'm breathing my fresh air of silence now.

It's been a weird day, so i listen to...

Stay Golden - Au Revoir Simone

I had an unbelievable conversation with a stranger today. He made me believe in things that's very unnatural to me, wonder why he choose to talk to me...??

The Twilight Shrine and Fake Snow Christmas Tree Day

Since New Moon movie is coming soon and our flagship store also make an amazing display, we decided to make a twilight shrine.

The only thing left out is Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's picture. We suppose to make it christmas tree-like but my supervisor said it looks like Borobudur Shrine.
Oh, well Borobudur is nice too, i think.

And the Christmas tree is coming, along with mass amount of fake snow made out of cotton or something else i didn't know.
Let me remind you that fake snow can cause you breathing problem, but it's fun.

Worthy One Hour

My favorite time of day, my one hour break.

Always, always spend amount of time to read. Well, today i didn't read as much as usual since the book that i brought is pretty depressing book, Everyman by Philip Roth.

So i sit beside tons of carton stacked up until it touches the ceiling. I wonder what would happen to me if it all fell down.

And i started taking pictures.

And another picture

This is not a good picture..
And it's 2pm already, time's out. Head back to work.

I Wish..

i could take a little peek of the future, just a little hint to know whether i am doing things right. But I guess nothing is really, truly right. I just need to be happy with what i choose and choose things that makes me happy.

Walking around the sleepy town

It was a day before the fasting month's over so half of Jakarta towners are heading back to their hometown. The once noisy and hectic city turns quiet and peaceful for a while.

What i love is after i took these photos, the rain is pouring down hard.

Mcdonald's Sunset

This is what i found when i'm out looking for dinner.

How lovely..

though i don't dine there tonight.

Sticky Notes

Me and my coworkers found sticky notes around our bookstore, we thought it was vandalism but turns out it was kind of cute.
We end up just laugh about it. Because we think anyone who sticks this kind of message is just trying to make people happy.

Grateful Moments.

A customer that i could chat with about Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and the Beat generation. How great, at last somebody knew and read about them. Didn't feel like alien anymore. He even said that he would love to lend me Allen Ginsberg book. How great is that... I Just realize how nerdy i am. But it 's also something i grateful for.

Almost Unreal

Today's been a mix of good and bad things.
I'm barely breathing to catch up with the way life turns.
In one day I've seen
two different sides of people.
two different kind of movie.
Two different stories about one silly rumour at the office.

Living in the beloved messy city
